REVIEWS
"One of the most entertaining nights I've had for a long time! Alan immediately puts the audience at ease as he commands the show with wit and authority. He is very skilled at public performance. It was a delightful varied evening with guest participants such as Harriet,Robin,Fiona and Gordon-well done to you!We listened and learnt about the life and works of Rabbie Burns ,joined in with the banter and sang and danced ..First rate.Highly reccommended!" - author Magdalena Reisng
"Well done Alan! The Burns night was thoroughly entertaining and its host provided an informed combination of the legendary words, humour and music. Alan is a very accomplished singer and celtic harpist. There was plenty of opportunity to join in and ultimately, to join hands in the largest circle that Nadia`s livingroom permitted! The traditional Haggis (with a delicious veggie option!), Tatties and Neeps, were satisfying enough in themselves to ensure that this annual celebration will not be overlooked by me ever again!" - author Paul Chi
"Alan’s rendition of Tam O'Shanter and superb baritone vocals accompanied by his own harp playing were very memorable. Paul Chi gave a haunting performance of Auld Lang Syne that had obviously been given a lot of thought- a truly unique interpretation of this classic tune. The evening’s entertainment was delivered around the traditional Burns night Haggis, Tatties and Neeps. Book early for next year as Alan says it is Robert Burns 250th anniversary and extra special celebrations are planned! " - author Robin Brownsell
"Alans concerts are always very engaging and entertaining. he involves the audience by teling stories about each song and sometimes encouraging them to sing with him. after one such concert i decided to go to his alexander technique/singing workshop. alan has a good sense of humour which he uses to put people at ease. various excercises were used to help loosen our muscles particularly those around our jaws.we learned the semi-supine alexander position which helps to realign the spine. alan then taught us to stand in a way which relaxes and lengthens the spine and helps prepare for maximum use of breath and voice.we warmed up the voice by using excercises from humming to blowing kisses! we sung a few songs as a group using specific techniches to help us to relax and to project our voices in a manner appropriate to the song. alan gave us help individually so that we could strengthen our performances.we all improved in confidence and ability and i left feeling very encouraged and excited." - author nadia
