Alan Mars has been a STAT qualified teacher of the Alexander Technique since 1982. He has taught Alexander Technique, voicework and singing at leading London performance schools – the Arts Educational Drama School, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the Royal College of Music. After 22 years of teaching in London he now also teaches Alexander Technique and voice-work in Brighton & Hove.
Alan sings traditional Scottish, Irish and Neopolitan songs while accompanying himself on the Celtic harp. He has been singing the songs of Robert Burns since early childhood. He has performed at and run many successful Burn's Suppers.

Moving Through Daily Life with Greater Ease - Alexander Technique can help you to prevent or alleviate conditions associated with undue tension or poor posture. Many people come to the Alexander Technique because of physical problems: back, neck or shoulder pain, RSI, stress, vocal or breathing disorders etc. Alexander Technique teachers use a combination of gentle manual guidance and verbal coaching to help their pupils bring about increasing ease and poise in their everyday activities.
You will learn how to - Reduce wear and tear. Let go of stress and strain. To use your spine effectively in daily life. Sit, stand, walk, bend and breathe effectively. Use minimum effort to maximum effect in your daily activities. Understand daily cycles of alertness and fatigue. Use the Alexander semi-supine active resting position. The teaching style is practical with a lot of hands-on guidance.
Individual sessions are £30 each or £250 per block of ten lessons paid in advance.
