A SONG IS BORN
Q Did you write these songs?
Paul. No, nobody wrote these songs.
ALBUM: YOU'RE ONE OF US
All songs created in the moment for Healthy Concerts' I AM THE SONG series:
22 September, 20 October & 17 November 1999 - Paul Chi, Paul Chenour, Wendy Halsted
Q Do you begin with a chord sequence or a theme or...?
Paul. Nothing, but there is something.
Q What's that?
Paul. The way I feel, fleeting thoughts, my body, my breathe, the touch of the keys and strings?
To freely oscillate between playful and restful states, exploring and celebrating the inner and outer conditions of movement and stillness, sound and silence, light and dark.
KoKoMoDo
Q Who's in KoKoMoDo?
Kevin. The members are fluid and flexible
Q What's the idea?
Kevin. Controlled improvisation based on ritual and magic rhythms, typically from Brazil, Cuba, Haiti etc. My percussion is almost exclusively wood and metal.
