....With heads tilted skywards and hope in their hearts, before the clouds and beyond the drowning, pulled into the warmth from the bitter cold. We bring tales of loss, longing and earthly unease, from deep dark to bright light. Haunted, breathy, Das Fenster...

Das Fenster is a Brighton based band of three nationalities with a background of diverse musical experiences. The german / english / dutch members have come together from a mix of musical backgrounds, including classical, jazz, experimental and folk music.

As the ensemble is expandable / contractible we are available to perform as a two, three, four and five piece act. The band can perform both, as an acoustic and as an electro act.

In the last two years the band has formed around the composer / vocalist Eva Katharina, the music has come increasingly into focus and the rich arrangements for piano, double bass, guitar, violin, mandolin and bassoon bring a new depth to the painfully honest, spellbinding, poetic songs.

The project consists of:

Eva Katharina (songwriter, vocals, piano, guitar)
Steve Elsten (guitar, piano, vocals, mandolin)
William Clover (bassoon)
Chris Deyl (double bass, vocals)
Tim Cotterell (violin, banjo and mandolin)
