Ian Scionti (Oregon, USA, 1981) has been playing and teaching professionally since the age of 15. A decade of pursuing jazz lead him to San Francisco and New York where he studied with Mimi Fox, Howard Alden, and Ron Affif, among others. In New York he began playing flamenco guitar, inspiring his move to Sevilla, Spain in 2004 where he currently lives. In Sevilla he has had the opportunity to study with some of the biggest names in flamenco guitar, including Manolo Sanlucar, Miguel Ángel Cortés, Pedro Sierra, Manolo Franco, and Niño Pura among others. Ian has performed internationally with many groups, from flamenco to jazz and soul, appearing in the United States, England, Germany, Spain, Hungary, Greece, and France. In addition to regularly accompanying flamenco dancers, singers and performing solo, he forms part of an acoustic soul duo with Berlin-based singer Lynne Williams.
