Nick Pynn wows them in Edinburgh
Nick Pynn returns to Brighton after his first ever solo show at the Edinburgh Fringe.
With his show, 'Music from Hotel Rooms, Forests and Submarines' he has thrilled audiences and critics alike with his original music performed on fiddle, dulcimer, guitar, mandocello and live sampling of wine glasses and a pack of playing cards, along with voices of invisible guests comedian Rich Hall, local singer Astrid Williamson and the God of Hell Fire himself Arthur Brown.
The Herald, Scotland's biggest selling daily broadsheet, gave Nick's show a four star review, calling the experience 'splendid, his musical skills perfectly complemented by a gift for anecdote.'
Rob Adams writes, "Pynn occupies a musical landscape somewhere between Steve Reich's minimalism and traditional jiggery-folkery" and concludes that the show is "warmly recommended."
Festival publication 'Three Weeks' gave the show a 5 out of 5 rating, and the critic stated that Nick is one of the most inventive musicians I've ever heard. Go and see him.'
Like Jane Bom-Bane, Nick has also been nominated for a Tap Water award for this year's Festival.
