Profile
I sing jazz standards mostly and have been performing an increasing repertoire for well over fifteen years. I love all the great songwriters: Gershwin, Rodgers and Hart, Mercer, etc. However, I am just as likely to choose a song made popular by Edith Piaf, or crafted by the great Burt Bacharach. The important thing for me is to tell the story and, often, to have a lot of fun with the audience into the bargain. Let's face it, even the sad and wistful songs can be something to savour and I like to share my love of them all.
I have an album -entitled BAlLADEER- which is me being indulgent where those soft, languid ballads are concerned. There are a couple of numbers which provide a little spice and I think the overall effect is successful - it might be categorised as 'dinner jazz'. Of course, I think you should buy it in your thousands: naturally!
If you are still not sure what sort of sound I might make, look at myspace.com/stewartbarlow. Oh, and look out for me on the Healthy Concert circuit. Bye for now and enjoy your music!
