Virginia Slater was born in 1980. At the age of ten she was awarded scholarships to study at the Royal College of Music and in 1992 the Purcell School of Music. There she studied with Ian Jewel and in 1998 won the 'Guivier Award' in recognition of her musical achievements. In 1999 she was offered a scholarship to study at the Royal College of Music.
As soloist Virginia has performed in many of the London Concert Halls including the Purcell Room, South Bank and the Wigmore Hall. She has also given recitals in the Holywell Music Room, Oxford and in Kettles' Yard, Cambridge. She Regularly appears at the Edinburgh Festival and has performed in Paris, Austria, Hungary, Venice, Dublin, Helsinki, Tallin and parts of Japan.
Virginia is a passionate chamber musican and has performed thoughout the United Kingdom. In London she has performed on several occasions in the Queen Elizabeth Hall and Purcell Room, South Bank, as well as the Wigmore Hall, Conway Hall and Holywell Music Room. Virginia has also toured much o Europe with her string quartet. Virginia is currently studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama under David Takeno.
