CONCERT IDEAS 2008 - BACK TO THE LAND

Healthy Concerts throughout the spring and summer could take place in private and community gardens/allotments and embrace cultural diversity and role flexibility - be the artist, be the audience, be the gardener...

Bring work and pleasure together again. Sing songs, work with the soil, plant seeds... learn about permaculture etc. Are you already doing something like this that we could network through the Healthy Concerts?

World Family www.worldfamily.ning.com meetings and workshops in Brighton have raised some important questions. For example, how can the vast majority of people here in the so called `north`, who have no experience of working creatively with the land and feel no personal bond with the soil, feel any empathy with the billions of Smallholder farmers throughout the world who are demanding their right to Food Sovereignty? Indeed, our Food Sovereignty was sacrificed a long time ago!

Back to the land - There is a sizable subculture here that enjoys popular concerts in large open fields. Are those festivals enriching the soil and nurturing the seed or just creating more work for cleaners? Are we missing an opportunity to give something back to the earth?
Just imagine, this year you could attend two very important concerts, a planting concert and a harvesting concert.
