Internationally renowned Tanzanian musician; award winning drummer, multi-instrumentalist and instrument maker, Saidi Kanda... invites YOU to join his band!
Experience the home tour; a series of intimate house concerts preceded by in-depth teaching sessions that enable students to fully embody the kind of celebration and festive spirit inherent in traditional African village culture. These will be family friendly events welcoming people of all ages and levels of ability, and held in the homes and communities of the participants.

Saidi Kanda will begin the home-made entertainment course by sharing inspirational stories from his childhood. There is so much to discover...
The art of instrument making
Music for voices, strings, wind and percussion
Learning to play your own home-made instrument - solo performances and ensemble works
Experience in performing individually and together
Choir practice - an exhilarating union of voices in 2, 3 and 4 parts
Spontaneous creation - "jamming"
Dancing and costumes etc.
Each of the seven events will finish with a short concert by Saidi and friends, and the series will culminate in a community festival - time for the students to shine!
Please contact me if you are interested in joining us. There are only 15 places available and registration for this course will be based on individual applications. There are no fixed charges. This unique opportunity to work with Saidi Kanda is immeasurably valuable. Are you able to host or cater for an event? This is a genuine Healthy Concerts community production.
